Model Railroad Exhibit Scheduled at Seminole Community Library
SEMINOLE - The Seminole Community Library at St. Petersburg College, Seminole Campus, will feature an unusual exhibit of model railroad displays August 13-15 entitled, "Model Railroads as Art: A Three-Dimensional Thematic Exhibit." The exhibit will include two highly detailed scale model displays. The first display, "Fun and Disasters" (12' x 32'), will show the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of man within the context of modern industrial life, featuring vintage "S" gauge American Flyer trains. The second display, "The Battle of Gettysburg" (4' x 8'), will feature "HO" scale tracks surrounding some 2,000 hand-painted soldiers, wagons, cannons, and horses. Scale model artists, Rick Moock and Barry Laderer, will be on hand to offer commentary and field questions from the public.
The exhibit will be in the library program rooms on the first floor. The library is located on the Seminole Campus of St. Petersburg College (9200 113th Street N.) For more information, please call (727) 394-6923.
