The Belleair Idol Competition held Friday at the town's Recreation Center saw more competitors than previous years. Electric guitarist, Samantha Fudens, 11, of Clearwater, performed a Taylor Swift song and walked away the winner. Songstress and guitarist Caroline Kudelko, a Belleair native, acted as a guest judge again this year, and also treated everyone to a performance of some of her new songs. Kudelko, 13, also known as "Suite Caroline" has been playing guitar since age 8.
