Spruce up for the Holidays with Nature Arts and Crafts

Why stop with just bringing a holiday tree inside your home? It's easy to create nature-based holiday decorations or unique holiday gifts at the upcoming Nature Arts and Crafts Workshop at Brooker Creek Preserve.

The event takes place Saturday, August 28, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center (3940 Keystone Road, Tarpon Springs.)

Using pinecones, dried flowers or bits of dried bark and mosses, students can take an ordinary picture frame or candleholder and make them extraordinarily unique. Craft a grapevine wreath for the door. Use natural accents to give your holiday décor items a wonderful homespun, outdoor theme. Participants work on individual nature crafts to take home. Plus, students can review samples of other holiday crafts and take home complete instructions. The cost of the program is $3 per participant and is recommended for families with children ages 6 and up. Space is limited; pre-registration is required by calling (727) 453-6800.
