City of Largo is Accepting Applications for Citizens' Academy

This is your chance to talk with city leaders, operate a side-loader, and get a behind the scenes tour of the Largo Cultural Center. Largo's Citizens' Academy is your hands-on solution to learning about your government while you dress like a firefighter or watch the reclaimed water treatment process. Continuing education credits (CEUs) will be offered.

The Citizens' Academy is a 10-session curriculum held on Monday evenings from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Classes begin September 20th.

What is the Citizens' Academy?

If you have always wanted to get involved, but were not sure where to start, the Citizens' Academy may be for you! Led by City Department Directors, the Academy guides citizens first hand through the myriad of operations that keep Largo running. Academy participants will tour key facilities, learn the challenges facing future development, talk with leaders about current issues and events affecting Largo, and work side by side with City staff members to learn about the essential functions they serve.
