Learn How to Keep Pesky Insects Out of Your Home

Florida is a very popular place to call home. Just ask the roaches, ants, and flies that frequently invade dwellings. Pinellas County Extension wants residents to know that there are ways to outwit these pesky insects without resorting to extreme measures. Join Extension horticulture specialist Cindy Peacock at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, as she shows how to outwit the invading hordes. Focus will be on how to identify particular pests, stages of their life cycles, and why they are in our homes in the first place. Since it's been said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, emphasis will be placed on how to prevent an invasion in the first place and what steps residents can take to "pestproof" their homes. The class will be held at the Pinellas County Extension office (12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo.)

To register for the free class, visit www.pinellascountyextension.org, click Online Class Registration, and then click the Lawn & Garden tab. Interested parties may also call (727) 582-2100 to register.
