Clearwater/St. Petersburg Ski and Sports Club Hosts Kickoff MeetingPinellas Counties only snow ski club will be holding their annual Kick Off Meeting to announce their slate of upcoming ski trips. Additionally, they will be holding a silent auction to benefit the Bay Pines Disabled Veterans so they can attend the Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass, CO on March 27 - April 1, 2011. This year the club will also be recruiting members to form "Team Snow Shark," a bike riding team that will participate in the "Ride to Defeat ALS" on December 11, 2011. The Kick Off meeting is free and open to the public. It will be held on Friday, August 27, at Banquet Masters (8100 Park Blvd, Pinellas Park.) The event will be held 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. This event will showcase the club's five winter ski trips for the upcoming ski season, with trips planned to Breckenridge, CO; Vail, CO; Steamboat, CO; Whitefish, MT; and Kitzbuhel, Austria. There will be trips for all levels of skiers and various price levels. This season marks the 27th anniversary of the not for profit Clearwater/St. Pete Ski and Sports Club. Beginning in September and running through May, the club will hold their monthly social meeting on the second Tuesday of the month at the Thirsty Marlin (351 West Bay Dr, Largo), starting at 7:00 p.m. Details about the club's trips and events can be found at the club's website www.snowshark.org.
