Award Winning Civitans Welcome Teachers Back to School

Clearwater Civitans returned from a Florida District Civitan Annual Convention to host a "Welcome Back Teachers Breakfast" at Calvin Hunsinger School at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, and at Paul B. Stephens Exceptional Training Center on Tuesday, August 17. Fresh fruit and pastries, along with a beverage of choice, were served to over two hundred teachers and staff.

Clearwater Civitan President-elect, Earle Lusk, greeted the teachers and invited them to join Civitan. He suggested they meet the club members at the upcoming bowling fundraiser on Sunday, September 19, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Twedts Lanes in Largo. It will be a "fun and fellowship event."

Richard Fuller, Clearwater Civitan President, spoke of the District Award Winning Programs and Projects under categories of education, fellowship, and service to youth in the North Pinellas sphere of activity. He then presented each school principal with a check of $1,000 to be used to help meet the unfunded needs for their students.
