(from left) Julie Messersmith, art instructor at the Beach Art Center, is pictured with three of the participants in her all-media painting class--Carolyn Shoup, Sandy Meyers and Jim Ladd. Ladd is putting finishing touches on his artwork featuring a colorful cattleya orchid. A new session of "Open Painting" is scheduled to begin September 15. Other classes to be offered in the fall at the center are still life drawing, colored pencil, traditional watercolor, acrylic watercolor, oil painting, woodcarving, throwing and hand-building in clay, pottery and jewelry fabrication.
