SPCA Tampa Bay Hosts Pitch in for Pets

Tampa Bay Rays fans, animal lovers, and the media are invited to attend this homerun event to raise money and awareness about the importance of adopting pets from shelters and not purchasing from stores. Approximately, 8 million pets-or 1 animal in every 4 seconds-including purebreds, mixes, the young and the old are brought to shelters each year in America.

Pitch in for Pets will be held on Saturday, September 18, at SPCA Tampa Bay from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

For those who adopt a new forever friend that day, the new pet parents and 4-footed friend will receive a complimentary photo with Grant and SPCA Tampa Bay alumni bandana. Guests and their pets can also have their photos taken with the Rays pitcher for a $5 donation.

Adoption and Boutique specials will be available all day long at the shelter, including a custom made SPCA Tampa Bay/Tampa Bay Rays car magnets. There will also be gift drawings for Rays baseball hats, upcoming game tickets, and the grand prize, an autographed Grant Balfour baseball glove! All proceeds collected will benefit the animals at SPCA Tampa Bay. Both Grant and his wife Angie are excited about this meet and greet with fans. They look forward to bringing their 2 SPCA Tampa Bay alumni dogs, ZZ and Zeus.

SPCA Tampa Bay is located at 9099 130th Ave. N., Largo. The hours are: Tuesday - Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Friday - 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Saturday - 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sunday - 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.; and closed Monday.
