Community Center Horseshoe Pit Constructed by Eagle Scout Candidate

PALM HARBOR - A horseshoe pit designed and constructed by Eagle Scout candidate William Ward, at the Palm Harbor Community Activity Center (1500 16th Street), has been completed and is now open to the public.

Ward, a senior at Palm Harbor University High School, and a team of fellow Scouts constructed the pit to meet official specifications determined by the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association of America. In addition to the court, Ward and his team also constructed and installed two benches. They raised funds from the community to pay for materials.

The pit is now open for public use. Shoes are available at the Activity Center during normal operating hours. Those using their own shoes can access the pit from sunrise to sunset.
