R.B. Johnson to Speak at Indian Rocks Beach Historical MuseumINDIAN ROCKS BEACH - The changing nature of our local passes and how they have reshaped our barrier islands will be explored in a presentation by Indian Rocks Beach Mayor and historian, R.B. Johnson. R.B.'s illustrated talk titled "Ebb and Flow" is the highlight of the Indian Rocks Historical Museum's fall potluck luncheon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25. R.B. will examine the mysteries behind the passes that provide access between the Gulf and Intracoastal Waterway. These passes have opened, closed, and shifted over the years, shaping the development of our beach communities. The presentation will cover how our coastal areas came into being, why many of the passes have moved around through the years, and how passes are created and destroyed by storms. R.B. will also relate interesting tales related to the passes. There will be a potluck luncheon, followed by R.B.'s talk. All are welcome, members or not-just bring a dish to share. Plates, utensils, and beverages are provided. The Indian Rocks Beach Historical Museum is located at 203 4th Avenue (across from the post office) in Indian Rocks Beach.
