CLEARWATER – Morton Plant Mease health experts invite the community to attend free health seminars in September focusing on longevity, joint pain, and how to manage diabetes. The health seminars will be presented at various Morton Plant Mease facilities and community centers.
Living a Longer, Healthier Life – Primary care physician Chrisoula Kiriazis, MD, will discuss how dietary choices, screenings, and lifestyle changes are vital for living a longer, healthier life at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the YMCA of the Suncoast, Teen Room, 1005 S Highland Ave., Clearwater. 
Sidelined by Joint Pain? Join orthopedic surgeon Duane Belongie, MD, to learn how carrying extra weight places an added burden on your joints at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Aging Well Center at the Long Center, Grand Room, 1501 N Belcher Road in Clearwater. This added stress can lead to osteoarthritis. Being overweight also amplifies osteoarthritis pain and makes it harder to remain active if you're already battling the disease. Learn ways to reduce stress on your knee and hip joints to keep aches from developing and discover strategies for weight loss to help ease osteoarthritis symptoms.
Common Childhood Illnesses – Join pediatrician Kathryn McNeely, MD, as part of the Parent Power Lecture Series to learn more about the flu, vaccines, head lice, MRSA and more at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ross Norton Park Recreation Center, Classroom, 1426 S Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Clearwater.

Safe Dieting for Diabetes Patients – If you're overweight and have type 2 diabetes, losing weight will help lower your blood sugar.
